Collins, Beschen Will Surf in Huntington Beach Event

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Newport Beach’s Richie Collins and San Clemente’s Shane Beschen will be among the surfers in the $22,000 Body Glove Cup for surfers and bodyboarders at Brookhurst Street on Huntington State Beach.
The competition begins today and concludes Sunday. Chris Brown is the defending champion in the surfing division and Ben Severson is the defending bodyboarding champion.
Santa Barbara’s Chris Brown leads the Bud Pro Surfing tour with 2,810 points, followed by Beschen (2,665), Costa Mesa’s Todd Miller (2,505) and Collins (2,270). Ben Severson of Wahiawa, Hawaii, leads the bodyboarding division with 3,450 points.
