It’s a Son for Magic Johnson and Wife Cookie

Magic Johnson and his wife, Cookie Kelly, had their first child Thursday night.

Their son, Earvin Johnson III, is 20 inches long, weighs 7 pounds 15 ounces and was delivered at 7:52 p.m. by Dr. Scott Serden at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, according to a statement.

“Cookie and Earvin III are doing fine, and the father is said to be looking forward to many late night feedings and endless diaper changes,” the statement said.

Johnson retired from professional basketball last November after announcing he is infected with the HIV virus. His wife was tested for the virus during the pregnancy and returned negative.
