Some of America’s leading track and field hopefuls appear in their final tuneup before the U.S. Olympic Trials when they compete in the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Ore. Among those competing, Joe Falcon, a winner at the Modesto and Bruce Jenner meets, will face Jeff Atkinson in the men’s 1,500 meters. Atkinson has the second-fastest time by an American this year at 3 minutes, 37.72 seconds.
