Kiddie Funding: PBS on Tuesday committed $10 million to renew four children’s programs, “Lamb Chop’s Play-Along,” “Shining Time Station,” “Reading Rainbow” and “Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?” In an earlier announcement, PBS committed more than $7.6 million to keep “Sesame Street” and “Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood” on the air. The PBS renewals were accompanied by additional funding from the Corp. for Public Broadcasting for “Lamb Chop” and “Carmen Sandiego.” PBS also said it hopes to have a new preschool series, “The Puzzle Factory,” on the air by 1994.
