Two San Diego men accused in the shooting death of a Grossmont High School student pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges of murder.
Alex Love II, the 19-year-old former boyfriend of the victim, Tameka Henderson, and Aaron Sylvester Hill, a 19-year-old described as Love’s best friend, will be held on $2 million bail each until their July 2 preliminary hearing.
Henderson, 17, a popular student at the high school, was shot to death June 3 outside the La Mesa photography studio where she worked as a receptionist.
The weapon used in the killing, a .38-caliber semiautomatic handgun, was turned in to police by a third party before the arrest of both defendants, Deputy Dist. Atty. Jim Waters said.
Waters would not say which of the two men is suspected of being the gunman.
