I flew into Los Angeles from New York City on June 5, picked up The Times, and found that Angelenos are up to the usual old Hollywood trick again--New York bashing! New Yorkers are described as “urban vagabonds,” with “stomachs hardening into fists.”
Go ahead. Call us names. Put down our city. It helps you draw your attention away from your own city, which has a worse crime rate than New York and nearly committed suicide last month.
Instead of ridiculing us, why don’t you thank New York’s taxpayers for helping bankroll $600 million in federal aid to repair the damaged caused by a very unnatural, self-imposed disaster?
