OXNARD : 6 Men Stabbed in 3 Incidents

Six men were stabbed, two seriously, in three incidents Saturday when a pair of parties turned violent.

Oscar Alberto Barquin, 25, of Port Hueneme and Martin Quinones, 38, of Oxnard were in serious condition at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, nursing supervisor Kathy Smith said.

In one incident, three men told Oxnard police that they went to a party in the 200 block of Carlisle Court in Oxnard when they were confronted and attacked by a group of 20 or 30 people.

Barquin, Jose Carrera, 18, of Port Hueneme and Juan Manzo, 20, of Oxnard were taken to St. John’s with stab wounds. Carrera was in stable condition and Manzo was treated and released from the hospital early Saturday.

In another incident, two men began fighting about 3:30 a.m. at a party in the 600 block of Collins Street in Oxnard, County Sheriff’s Deputy Frank O’Hanlon said. O’Hanlon said Frank Rivas, 38, of Oxnard is accused of stabbing Frank Tinoco, 19, in the stomach.

Later, Rivas was a passenger in a car driven by Quinones when the two were run off the road in Oxnard by men in a van, Sgt. Timothy Combs of the Oxnard Police Department said. Combs said the two were then attacked with knives, possibly by the men in the van.

Rivas was treated and then arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and released on bail Saturday.
