WESTMINSTER : Woman Killed in Crash; Man Arrested

A woman was killed Saturday when a man suspected of drunk driving ran a red light at the intersection of Westminster Boulevard and Magnolia Street and broadsided her car, police said.
Lien Thi Nguyen, 33, of Midway City was hit as she passed through the intersection about 4 a.m. Saturday. Her car rolled 1 1/2 times. Nguyen was taken to Humana Hospital-Westminster, where she was pronounced dead, according to Westminster Police Sgt. Jack Davidson.
Alberto Soto-Jaimes, 22, of Westminster was the driver of the car that ran the red light, Davidson said.
Soto-Jaimes was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with a head injury and facial cuts and is stable condition, said Anne Ford, clinical coordinator at the hospital.
He has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder and drunk driving and will be transferred to the jail facility at Western Medical Center-Anaheim.
