A Sly Victory: A British newspaper has agreed to pay damages to Sylvester Stallone for implying that the “Rambo” and “Rocky” star tried to evade the draft to avoid going to Vietnam, and therefore was cowardly and hypocritical in light of the heroic characters he plays. In a retraction printed Sunday, the Independent apologized and said it accepted that the implication was untrue and agreed to pay the actor a sum for damages and pay his legal costs. A source said the paper, which Stallone had sued for libel, had agreed to pay him $32,000.
