HUNTINGTON BEACH — A gunman who entered a home Wednesday afternoon and ordered a mother and her three children into a bathroom fled after the woman escaped to call police from a neighbor’s house, police said.
Armed with either a sawed-off shotgun or a rifle, the man entered a house on Thames Lane shortly after noon and ordered the 25-year-old woman and her children into the bathroom, police Lt. Luis Ochoa said. The ages of the children were not released.
The woman, whose name was withheld, told officers she immediately escaped and fled over a fence to a neighbor’s home, where she called police.
