Super Heroes: Disney’s Hollywood Pictures announced it will release “Super Mario Bros.,” based on the popular Nintendo video game, in 1993. Cinergi Productions, which has a distribution deal with Hollywood Pictures, acquired the rights to the $40-million film after a heated bidding war. Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo star as the plumbers Mario and Luigi in the movie, which is currently filming on location in North Carolina. Rocky Morton and Annabel Jankel are the film’s directors.
