Police in Santa Paula were searching Monday for leads in a robbery that sent a 21-year-old Los Angeles man to the hospital with multiple stab wounds.
Ariel Rodriguez, 21, told police that he was walking in an area of Santa Paula Sunday morning when he was accosted by three men who demanded his money, Sgt. Greg Guilin said.
Rodriguez told police that when he refused to give the men his wallet they beat and stabbed him and left with his wallet and an undetermined amount of cash, Guilin said.
Rodriguez was found by a passing motorist, who took him to Santa Paula Memorial Hospital for treatment of stab wounds to his face, body and left hand, Guilin said.
Rodriguez was discharged after receiving treatment, Guilin said.
The investigation is ongoing.
