Countywide : 12 Couples Renew Vows at Fair
- Share via
Couples married for more than 50 years got a chance to renew their vows at the Orange County Fair’s Golden Wedding Ceremony on Thursday.
Twelve couples from across the county said “I do,” and then sipped Champagne at the annual event that has been a part of the fair for the last decade, said Jeff Graves, contest coordinator for the fairgrounds. “A lot of people come out and do it year after year,” he said.
Couples get a free ceremony--performed by Rick Lake of Orangewood Baptist Church in Orange--and drinks. The bride gets a bouquet of flowers and the groom a boutonniere.
This year, Frank and Jeannette Spiegel of Costa Mesa were the longest-married couple to renew their vows. They have been married for 68 years.
