Assessing this week’s Democratic National Convention and Ross Perot’s withdrawal from the presidential race will occupy many of the network public-affairs shows this weekend.

Former Perot campaign advisers Ed Rollins and Hamilton Jordan will join Republican National Committee Chairman Richard Bond on “This Week With David Brinkley,” 10:30 a.m. Sunday (7) (3) (10) (42). “Both Sides With Jesse Jackson” will discuss presidential politics with Sen. John Breaux (D-La.) and Frank Fahrenkoph, former Republican National Committee chairman, at 6 p.m. today on CNN.
On the entertainment scale, this is “Guns N’ Roses & Metallica Weekend” on MTV. The double-billed rock groups won’t be arriving at the Rose Bowl until Aug. 22, but fans can get a preview through live-concert footage, videos, interviews and documentaries, 11 a.m and 7 p.m. today and 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
