YORBA LINDA : Motorist Dies After Crashing Into Wall

A Huntington Beach man was killed Friday morning when his car crashed into a retaining wall on Lakeview Avenue near the intersection of Buena Vista Avenue, Brea police said.

The man, whose name was being withheld Friday afternoon pending notification of his family, lost control of his car just blocks from another intersection where he was in a hit-and-run collision with another car, police said. An autopsy should show if the man was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time, police said.

Witnesses told police the man was driving erratically in a red sports car as he left the Riverside Freeway and went north on Lakeview. Near the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue, the car collided with another car driven by Buena Park resident Alberto Garcia, who was not injured. The driver of the sports car then continued at high speed up Lakeview until losing control, police said.
