* Calgene Fresh Inc., Davis, announced the appointments of James Gerecke as its vice president of retail sales and Cynthia M. Seik as its vice president of food service sales.

Prior to his appointment with Calgene Fresh, Gerecke, 41, most recently served as national sales manager of Land O’Lakes.

Seik, 41, most recently served as executive vice president-Contract Sales Division of Richelieu Group Inc., a holding company for food manufacturing operations that market branded and private label products. The Davis-based company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Calgene Inc., was formed earlier this year to develop, distribute and sell fresh produce.
