PLATFORM : Unite to Rebuild

Some politicians and some power and money brokers--black and Latino--are trying to use the ethnic card to achieve their goals.
Their constituents--the people in the community--do not benefit from this divisiveness. In fact, these tactics only exacerbate the economic and social problems. Social services are inadequate and there are not enough jobs and decent housing in South Los Angeles. The bickering at high political levels only encourages blacks and Latinos to blame each other for those problems.
I don’t have faith in politicians. Blacks and Latinos have to come together on the grass-roots level and develop their own plans for rebuilding Los Angeles. If people don’t come together, neighborhoods will continue to deteriorate and people will become even more alienated from each other. Actually, we have the right conditions for bringing people together.
