GOING FOR THE GOLD: With 35 athletes and two coaches in 13 sports, there will be an Orange tint to the red, white and blue U.S. Olympic team. . . . The county presence is most pronounced in the water: five water polo players, four kayakers, three canoeists, two swimmers, a rower and a sailboarder. . . . On land: the baseball team includes former Cal State Fullerton star Phil Nevin; Coto de Caza’s Michael Chang is hoping for the gold in tennis; and in track and field, look for walker Allen James and discus thrower Brian Blutreich, both of Mission Viejo, and shotputter Bonnie Dasse of Costa Mesa.
