China Trade Curbs Voted

WASHINGTON — The House of Representatives passed two bills Tuesday to clamp down on China’s lucrative trade with the United States. Both face a veto from President Bush.
The first bill, passed by a 258-135 vote, would overturn Bush’s one-year extension of preferential trade treatment for Beijing.
The second, passed 339 to 62, would let most-favored-nation trading status run through next July, then set conditions for renewal.
