Ed Goddard, former football All-American at Washington State, died of cancer Monday at his home in San Marcos in San Diego County. He was 78. Goddard played both professional football, with the old Brooklyn Dodgers, and baseball, with the New York Yankees, and later coached football at Fullerton College and several area high schools.
