And Don’t Forget Downtown: Meanwhile, about 100 leaders of the Los Angeles arts community met Wednesday to brainstorm on ways to aid the few arts institutions left downtown and plan for future revitalization of the area. Safety of downtown arts patrons, the impact of the arts on downtown’s economy and living conditions for downtown artists were some of the issues discussed at the meeting that was the first step toward including the arts community in the Community Redevelopment Agency’s Downtown Strategic Plan, a 25-30-year blueprint for the area.
