LOS ANGELES : Woman Seized in Mother’s Death After Going Home

A Los Angeles woman sought in the shooting death of her mother was arrested Monday at the house where the older woman died. Shawn Dailey, 36, was arrested in connection with the Aug. 18 shooting death of her mother, Clara Dailey, 66.
Shawn Dailey’s boyfriend, Bennie (Virgil) Grundy, 32, is also being sought. The murdered woman’s 11-year-old grandson told detectives he was awakened by gunfire and found his grandmother dead.
The pair drove from the house they shared with the older woman just after the early morning shooting, police said. About 6:15 p.m. Monday, neighbors called police to report that Dailey returned to her mother’s house in the 1300 block of Valencia Street, said Detective Steve Sena.
“It was the neighbors who really captured her,” Sena said. “They called us the minute she returned home.”
