Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Dianne Feinstein agreed Friday to join her opponent, Sen. John Seymour, in three candidate forums next month. The question-and-answer sessions will be broadcast live by radio and television stations statewide, Feinstein’s campaign staff said. The first debate will be Oct. 3 in Sacramento, sponsored by the California Broadcasters Assn. The second will be Oct. 11 in the Bay Area and will be sponsored by the San Francisco Chronicle and the Commonwealth Club, and the third will take place in Los Angeles on Oct. 19, with radio stations KABC, KKGO and KSDO as hosts. Republican Seymour, who trails the former San Francisco mayor in the polls, has accepted invitations to 20 or more forums, aides said. The two candidates are fighting to fill the last two years of the Senate seat vacated when Pete Wilson became governor.
