* Inglewood-based Herbalife International Inc. announced that Norman E. Friedmann has joined the company in the newly created position of chief operating officer.
Prior to this appointment, Friedmann served as a consultant to Herbalife, focusing on strategic and business development issues.
He is an expert in the management of mid- to high-technology companies in the engineering, business information, health care, electronics and computing sectors.
Friedmann was chairman and chief executive of Cordura Corp., an NYSE-listed company that he founded in 1965 and sold in 1986. Cordura is engaged in the sale of a broad range of information technology-based services to corporate clients and government.
