GTE Government Systems Receives Swedish Contract

GTE Government Systems Corp. said it has received a $7.8-million contract to design, produce, install and maintain a high-technology weather information system for the Swedish Air Force. The work will be performed by GTE’s Imagery and Intelligence Processing Organization in Westlake Village.
GTE Government Systems is a unit of GTE Corp. of Stamford, Conn. The company said the new system, called MILMET, will replace Sweden’s current automated weather systems known as Weather 70 and Weather 80. Delivery of the MILMET system is scheduled for next May.
