Taft 35, Monroe 6--Running back Dion Patton paced Taft (2-1) with a game-high 71 yards and touchdowns on runs of 14 and 30 yards. Patton’s first score put Taft ahead, 14-6, at halftime.
Jerry Brown rushed for 60 yards in 12 carries, including a 17-yard touchdown in the first quarter.
On a trick play in the third quarter, wide receiver Dion Shaw completed a 34-yard pass to fellow wide receiver Dion Gaston for a touchdown.
