Restrictions on Gun Sales

In response to “Gun Buyers to Supply Photos, Fingerprints,” Sept. 24:
Why in the world would anyone oppose the measure passed by Alameda County requiring fingerprints and a photograph of gun buyers? The National Rifle Assn. claims this will impose an undue burden on gun owners--”law-abiding citizens.”
I welcome this measure and would gladly submit to the imposition if I were to buy a gun. The process of being fingerprinted and photographed might take five minutes; the buyer has to wait 15 days to receive the gun, regardless, so where is the burden?
