BehindTheScenes : Nygard Trods Red Carpet

Saks Fifth Avenue literally rolled out a red carpet last week to welcome Canadian fashion king Peter Nygard. The South Coast Plaza stop was the first of seven U.S. appearances he will make to kick off his winter/holiday ’92 and spring ’93 signature collections, which Saks carries exclusively in Orange County. Silks made a strong showing among his feminine, menswear-inspired silhouettes in a palette of vibrant gems and deep earth tones. The 45-minute ramp show was followed by an autograph session that had female fans flocking. One even got Nygard to sign her rather lengthy sales receipt.
