What’s In a Name: Country music legend Minnie Pearl has a new namesake. Grammy-winning singer Amy Grant has named her new daughter Sarah Cannon Chapman in honor of Pearl, her longtime friend and fellow Tennessean whose real name is Sarah Cannon. The baby was born Sunday in Nashville. Grant and her husband, songwriter-producer Gary Chapman, have two other children, Matthew, 5, and Millie, who will be 3 in December.
