COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : No. 3 Cypress Women Shut Out OCC

Cypress, the third-ranked women’s soccer team in the state, remained unbeaten in Orange Empire Conference play by defeating Orange Coast, 4-0, Tuesday at Cypress College.
Stacy Darin, Brandi Yates, Laurie Wilson, and Krishawn Mangan each scored for the Chargers (8-1, 5-0 in conference).
The victory was the fourth consecutive 4-0 victory for Cypress. The Chargers have outscored conference opponents 19-1 this season.
Orange Coast is 2-4-1, 2-2-1.
In another Orange Empire Conference match:
Irvine Valley 3, Golden West 1--Kristen Lowery scored two goals, and Jennifer Baldwin scored one for Irvine Valley (6-6-1, 3-2). Michelle Garay scored for Golden West (0-5 in the conference).
In Orange Empire Conference men’s soccer:
Irvine Valley 5, Golden West 3--Jason Sorrell and Shandiz Haushmand scored second-half goals for visiting Irvine Valley (3-0-1 in conference). Goalie Hans Gratzer had 15 saves for Golden West (5-6-1, 1-2-1).
Rancho Santiago 6, Orange Coast 0--Ronnie Murietta scored two goals for host Rancho Santiago (7-1-2, 2-0-2), and goalies David King and Juan Ramirez combined for five saves and the shutout. Orange Coast is 4-5-1, 1-3.
In Orange Empire Conference water polo:
Rancho Santiago 16, Cypress 12--Peter Herman scored five goals, and Jeremy Yorba and Joel Stewart each had three for host Rancho Santiago (11-5, 1-0). Cypress is 0-2 in conference.
