All for Alisal

We have just returned from spending five days at the Alisal Guest Ranch (“Calling All Families, a Resort Without Phones,” Oct. 4) and I felt a need to respond. We found the food to be of gourmet quality. The preparation and presentation was much superior to any of the seven cruises we have been on. We found the shrimp to be not chewy but succulent, and the fruit to be of top quality. We found the desserts “to die for.” Perhaps the writer, Joe Applegate, needs some more travel experience to make a judgment. Alisal is a gem.
