OXNARD : Meeting to Focus on Youth Problems
- Share via
Members of the Oxnard Youth Committee will discuss gang involvement, drug and alcohol abuse and a rise in graffiti tonight at the next in a series of meetings being held to address problems facing Oxnard youth.
The public is invited to attend and comment at the 7 p.m. meeting as the committee identifies ways to tackle the problems, said Rosann Gallien, a committee organizer.
The meeting will be held in the cafeteria at Channel Islands High School, 1400 E. Raiders Way.
The committee, made up of community leaders in Oxnard, was put together by Ventura County Supervisor John K. Flynn late last year to address the city’s increasing problems with youth gangs and violence. It is still gathering information for a final report, which is due out in coming months, Gallien said.
