Dakin Inc. and the cable-television network Nickelodeon have signed a licensing agreement under which Dakin will produce a line of plush toys and other gifts based on some of Nickelodeon’s animated TV shows.
Privately held Dakin, with executive offices in Woodland Hills and Burlingame, Calif., markets a variety of stuffed animals and other novelty gifts. Nickelodeon, a production of Viacom International Inc.’s MTV Networks division, offers children’s programs on cable.
The companies’ pact calls for Dakin to launch a line of gifts based on such popular Nickelodeon shows as “Doug,” “Rugrats” and “The Ren and Stimpy Show.” Dakin also will produce stationery items such as diaries, clipboards and note pads under the Nickelodeon name and logo.
