Nationwide Health Acquires 2 Properties

NEWPORT BEACH — Nationwide Health Properties Inc. said Tuesday that it has acquired two nursing homes, one in San Diego and one in Indiana, for $9.95 million.
The San Diego facility has 305 beds, is 91% occupied and cost $5.75 million, Nationwide said. The property will continue to be run by Golden State Health Centers Inc. of Sherman Oaks, which operates 19 such facilities in California.
The Brookville, Ind., facility has 112 beds, is 88% occupied and sold for $4.2 million, according to Nationwide. It will continue to be run by Atlanta-based Liberty Healthcare Inc., which operates 24 such facilities across the nation.
