Sudden Shutdown: Sunday evening performances of “Melody Jones” and “Dunbar” at the Cast Theatre complex in Hollywood were suddenly and unexpectedly canceled Sunday afternoon. The theater’s production manager Andy Daley said only that going on with the performances might “jeopardize our livelihood” but declined further explanation. Artistic director Diana Gibson could not be reached. Angry cast members of “Melody Jones,” who said a full house was expected for their final scheduled performance, at one point called police in order to get inside the theater to remove their belongings, but Daley opened a side door and allowed the cast in before the police arrived.
