Heinrich scored six goals as he helped the Wildcats to a 2-0 start in the Delphic League. He posted two goals in the Wildcats’ 3-0 win over league rival Crossroads, and followed that with a four-goal outburst in an 11-1 thrashing of Campbell Hall.

Rick Price, a junior guard, had a good week although the same could not be said about his basketball team, St. Anthony High of Long Beach. Price recorded 25 points in the Saints’ 58-54 loss to Locke. He added 30 points in a 59-55 loss to Millikan. Price finished the week with a 26-point effort as St. Anthony defeated Murphy, 67-55.

Everett Ratleff, a guard for Jordan High of Long Beach, scored 65 points in three games. Ratleff recorded 22 points as the Panthers dropped a 68-67 decision to Serra. He scored 16 points as the Panthers dropped their second straight game, 53-45, to Pasadena. He had 27 points as Jordan posted a 65-48 victory over Servite.
