SANTA ANA — About 1,700 people were left without power briefly Wednesday morning after a car struck a power pole support and caused a short circuit, officials said.
An unidentified driver drove a car into a tension wire that supports a power pole near the intersection of 20th and Main streets, said Southern California Edison Co. spokesman Brad Martin.
Homes and businesses in a rectangular-shaped area were without power for about half an hour after the 10:28 a.m. accident, Martin said.
