15 Die in Tijuana of Cold-Related Illnesses

TIJUANA — Thirteen poor children and two adults living in makeshift homes in remote areas of Tijuana have died as a result of cold weather-related illnesses since Dec. 11, authorities said.
The deaths were attributed to exposure, specifically bronchitis and pneumonia. The children were between the ages of 8 days and 14 months, according to Armando Gallego Machain, administrator for the Tijuana medical examiner’s office.
