OUTLOOK
With three returning starters, including Newidouski, one of the league’s top players last season, the Dolphins will again be one of the league’s premier teams. Newidouski averaged 15.6 points last season and appears ready for a big senior year. “She shoots very, very well and has tremendous instincts offensively,” Chapman said. “She has a scorer’s mentality.” Grossman and Zuniga, who averaged 4.6 steals as a sophomore, are the other returning starters. Dowling, Kochendorfer and Papa also return with varsity experience. Wilson (6-0) is up from the junior varsity but is a year away from making a big contribution, Chapman said. Nelson, Noyes and Brady are three of the top newcomers. Chapman said the Dolphins do not appear to have the strong inside game they had last year and will have to rely more on Newidouski’s shooting. “Eventually, our man-to-man defense will be tough,” Chapman said. “It sparks everything we do.”
