SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Capistrano Unified School District Trustee Marlene Draper recently took over as president of the board, replacing Crystal Kochendorfer, who was honored last week by her colleagues for her year of leadership in the honorary job.
Draper, a 40-year-old San Juan Capistrano businesswoman who was recently reelected to her second four-year term, previously served as vice president and clerk of the board. Her two teen-age daughters attend district schools.
In addition to her work in the school district, Draper is a member of the board of directors of the South Orange County Leadership Conference, a board member with the San Juan Community Task Force, a former member of the Orange County Traffic Committee, a member of the California School Boards Assn.’s Legislative Action Committee and a member of the Orange County School Boards Assn.’s political action group.
Longtime Trustee Annette B. Gude will serve as vice president of the seven-member board in 1993, while Trustee Paul B. Haseman will take over as clerk. Kochendorfer will remain as a board member.
