Ten U.S. Olympic gold-medal winners, including boxer Oscar De La Hoya and swimmers Mike Barrowman, Pablo Morales and Summer Sanders, were selected by the Amateur Athletic Union as finalists for the 1992 Sullivan Award. The winner of the award, presented by the AAU each year since 1930 to the nation’s top amateur athlete, will be announced March 8.
Four of the 10 are repeat finalists, including Barrowman, wrestler Bruce Baumgartner, speedskater Bonnie Blair and figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi.
The others are sprinter Gail Devers, diver Mark Lenzi and hurdler Kevin Young.
