ROUNDUP : Paje Makes Six Three-Pointers to Lead First-Place Edison

Joan Paje scored 28 points, including six three-pointers, to lead Edison to a 61-57 victory over Fountain Valley in a Sunset League girls’ basketball game Saturday at Edison High.
Sonia Bryant scored 12 points, and Leila Ryan added 10 for the Chargers (9-4, 3-0 in league), who remained tied with Marina for first place in the league.
Julie Murdent had 14 points and nine rebounds, and Robin Kuhlmann had 14 points for Fountain Valley (7-7, 2-1).
In other Sunset League games:
Huntington Beach 43, Ocean View 39--Clare Walker had 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Deana Itow had eight points, nine rebounds and seven steals for visiting Huntington Beach (12-3, 2-1), ranked second in Orange County. Kerri Umehira had 15 points for Ocean View (1-2 in league).
Marina 39, Santa Ana 31--Jessica Trippet had six points and 14 rebounds for visiting Marina (10-3, 3-0), ranked third in the county. Yolanda Gonzalez had 15 points and Cynthia Trotter had nine steals for Santa Ana (6-5, 0-3).
Westminster 58, Rosary 52--Rachel Kavan scored 20 points, and Lisa Tamommasui added 11 points and 12 rebounds for host Westminster (4-8, 1-2). Jennifer Chey had 20 points to lead Rosary (3-8, 0-3).
In Olympic League girls’ basketball:
Calvary Chapel 40, Orange Lutheran 28--Blythe Linsey had 29 points and 20 rebounds for visiting Calvary Chapel (7-4, 1-1). Orange Lutheran is 6-6, 0-2.
Whittier Christian 47, Ontario Christian 36--Ila Borders scored 15 points to lead Whittier Christian (8-5, 2-1) over Ontario Christian (6-7, 0-2).
In nonleague girls’ basketball:
Costa Mesa 76, Norco 54--Olivia DiCamilli scored 23 points and 15 rebounds for host Costa Mesa (12-4).
Katella 42, Magnolia 29--Stephanie Toon and Rachel Davis each scored 10 points for visiting Katella (12-2). Magnolia is 7-7.
La Verne Lutheran 40, Liberty Christian 28--Freshmen Becky Rendon and Amy Erickson each scored eight points for host Liberty Christian (5-7). Darlene Berg had 17 points for La Verne Lutheran (7-3).
In Sunset League girls’ soccer:
Edison 2, Fountain Valley 2--Lynne Thiel and Shellee Stucker scored second-half goals for host Edison (11-3-1, 1-0-1). Mindy Miller and Karen Serynek scored for Fountain Valley.
Rosary 2, Westminster 0--Amy Shanks and Jennifer Turnbull scored for visiting Rosary (5-5-1, 1-1). Betsy Tuggle had eight saves for Westminster (6-3, 0-2).
In Sea View League boys’ soccer:
Santa Margarita 9, University 0--Josh Keller and Dan Sparks scored two goals each for host Santa Margarita (11-0-2, 1-0-1). Kei Nishida had 22 saves for University (3-6-0, 0-2-0).
Tustin 2, Irvine 1--Tim Wilson scored two second-half goals for visiting Tustin (4-4, 1-1). Mike Gentile scored for Irvine (0-2 in league).
At the Little Rock wrestling tournament:
Kennedy takes third--Paul Soto won the 171-pound class for Kennedy, which finished third in the tournament behind Las Vegas Chaparral and Highland. Jerome Espinoza placed second at 125 for Kennedy.
