Lorenzo Reportedly Plans New Airline: Frank Lorenzo, the controversial former head of Continental Airlines, reportedly is planning to launch a new carrier. The New York Times reports in today’s editions that Lorenzo hopes to start an airline to serve select markets from a Baltimore or Washington hub. The paper says he has rounded up several DC-9s that once belonged to Delta. Lorenzo sold his stake in Continental in 1990. He was criticized at Continental for anti-union tactics and for burdening the firm with debts that led it into Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
