SANTA MONICA : Police Warn of Rapist Who Enters Unlocked Homes

Police in Santa Monica are asking women there to lock their doors and windows because of a series of nighttime sexual assaults in the Ocean Park area.
Over the past 10 days, four women have been raped or sexually assaulted in their apartments by a man who entered through an unlocked door or window, said Sgt. Gary Gallinot Tuesday. Police were unsure whether the attacks were committed by the same man.
Two attacks an hour apart occurred early Sunday, he said.
