ANTELOPE VALLEY : Free Income Tax Assistance Offered

Antelope Valley’s elderly, handicapped and non-English speaking people are being offered free assistance in completing basic 1992 income tax forms through an Antelope Valley College-sponsored volunteer program.
Volunteers, including Spanish-speaking ones, will be available Saturdays beginning Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the valley at the following locations:
* Antelope Valley College, 3041 W. Ave. K, Room 206, Lancaster, every Saturday from Feb. 20 to April 3.
* Palmdale Cultural Center, 704 E. Palmdale Blvd., Center Room, Palmdale, Feb. 20 and 27 and March 6, 13, 20 and 27.
* Rosamond VFW Lodge, 1990 El Ray St., Rosamond, every Saturday from Feb. 20 to April 3.
* Twin Lakes Community Church, 17213 Lake Los Angeles Ave., Lake Los Angeles, every Saturday from Feb. 20 to April 3.
* First Missionary Baptist Church, 37721 100th St., Littlerock, every Saturday from Feb. 20 through April 3.
* Antelope Acres Community Center, 8812 W. Ave. E-8 (behind the fire station), March 13.
* Acton Community Club, 3748 W. Nickels Ave., Feb. 20 and April 3.
* Lake Hughes Community Center, 17270 Elizabeth Lake Road, Feb. 27 and March 27.
No appointment is necessary. Hearing-impaired people may request a sign language by calling (805) 943-3241, Ext. 301.
