Bruny Surin of Canada ran the fastest time of the indoor season as he beat Ben Johnson in winning the 60-meter dash in 6.52 seconds in Berlin. Russian sprinter Irina Privalova, who set a world best of 6.0 seconds in the rarely run 50 meters three days ago in Moscow, won the women’s 60 meters in 7.01.
