It would be a colossal mistake to categorize the Zoe Baird episode as a red-tape mix-up over nannies. Not only do we need a thorough review of our immigration policies, but a similar scrutiny of all INS enforcement procedures.
Fifty-two percent of all illegal immigrants enter California. Because more than half of this nation’s estimated 4 million illegal immigrants reside within this state, the California congressional delegation must assume the lead in putting our immigration laws and procedures back in order.
