GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Brea-Olinda Wins League Title for 11th Consecutive Season

Brea-Olinda clinched its 11th consecutive Orange League Championship title with a 77-27 victory over Savanna Tuesday at Brea.
It was the 60th consecutive league victory for Brea-Olinda dating back to the 1988 season. Nicole Erickson had 17 points, six rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals for Brea-Olinda (23-2, 9-0).
In other Orange League games:
Valencia 55, Anaheim 23--Nicole Kubota scored 17 points for Valencia (6-12, 4-5). Joane Rodriguez had 10 points for Anaheim (0-9 in league).
Western 39, Magnolia 37--Tracy Gallagher made two free throws with about 30 seconds left to help Western (12-11, 5-4) to the victory. Western clinched a playoff spot with the victory.
In the Sunset League:
Ocean View 68, Edison 49--Tricia Lindquist had 14 points for Ocean View (14-10, 8-5). Edison is 13-10, 7-6.
Fountain Valley 56, Rosary 36--Julie Murdent scored 11 points for Fountain Valley. Jennifer Chey had 15 for Rosary (5-15, 2-11).
Marina 65, Westminster 27--Jessica Trippet had 15 points for host Marina (19-4, 12-1).
Huntington Beach 76, Santa Ana 45--Deana Itow had 21 points for fourth-ranked Huntington Beach (22-3, 12-1).
In the Century League:
Villa Park 41, Santa Ana Valley 36--Michelle Jacqot had eight steals for Villa Park (13-6, 8-1). Maureen Skehan led the Spartans with 11 points.
El Modena 54, Orange 35--Jamie Shine scored 34 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead El Modena (9-10, 6-3) past Orange (5-11, 2-7).
In the Freeway League:
Troy 54, Sunny Hills 39--Audra Gamst and Brandee Rchardson scored 12 points apiece for Troy (9-0 in league). Darci Raphael had 12 points for Sunny Hills (8-13, 4-5).
La Habra 52, Sonora 27--Amy Lien and Beth Ploog each scored 10 points for La Habra (7-2 in league). Chris Nonis had 11 points for Sonora (8-14, 2-7).
Fullerton 55, Buena Park 25--Nadia Hoerner had 18 and Ashley Jones added 14 for host Fullerton (9-12, 5-4).
In the Olympic League:
Capistrano Valley Christian 82, Brethren Christian 22--Ivana Kovavic scored 17 points for Capistrano Valley Christian (15-6, 8-3).
Whittier Christian 60, Orange Lutheran 51--Alana Kempton led Whittier Christian (14-8, 8-4) with 26 points including making 18 of 20 free-throw attempts.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Laguna Hills 34, Trabuco Hills 31--Amy Feniello made two free throws with six seconds left to clinch it for host Laguna Hills (6-16, 2-7).
Costa Mesa 80, Laguna Beach 32--Olivia DiCamilli had 23 points to lead Costa Mesa (21-4, 9-0).
Estancia 40, Century 34--Leading 36-33, with 1:30 remaining in the game, Estancia (7-2 in league) made four of five free throws to win.
In the Sea View League:
Newport Harbor 54, University 39--Gina Heads scored 18 points and Michaela Ross had 13 for Newport Harbor (17-6, 12-1).
Woodbridge 81, Saddleback 26--Nicole Quinn scored 18 points and Angela Burgess had 13 points and 15 rebounds for Woodbridge (19-5, 12-1).
Tustin 59, Santa Margarita 55--Sarah Davis and Katie Scheuerman each scored 21 points for Tustin (10-13, 6-7). Lesley Nolan led Santa Margarita (8-14, 6-7) with 22 points.
Corona del Mar 74, Irvine 35--Mollie Flint scored a career-high 40 points for Corona del Mar (13-9, 6-7).
In nonleague play:
Liberty Christian 59, Life Christian 9--Freshman Jessica Clark scored 14 points for host Liberty Christian (10-10).
