N.Y. Attorney General Seeks to Block Nabisco Deal: Robert Abrams, attorney general of New York state, has filed an antitrust suit in a bid to block the acquisition of Nabisco cereals by the owner of Post cereals. Abrams contends that the deal would raise prices of ready-to-eat cereals. He said the price of cold cereals has increased 71% over the last eight years, outpacing a 37% rise in food prices during the same period. Last month, RJR Nabisco Inc. sold its cold cereals to Kraft General Foods for $450 million.
