Glassell Park : Breakup Ends in 2 Deaths
Two people died in a murder-suicide after a jilted boyfriend kicked in the door to his former girlfriend’s home, fired three bullets into her chest as she lay in her bed and turned the gun on himself, police said.
The dead were identified as Ramiro Diaz, 33, of Lakeview Terrace and Patricia Stenzel, 39, who owned a home in the 3200 block of Future Street.
The couple had been seeing each other on-and-off for nearly two years, but Stenzel was trying to break off the relationship, Los Angeles Police Detective Joe Friend said.
Diaz, an unemployed salesman and student, had gone to Stenzel’s house Monday afternoon but was escorted away by another resident, Friend said. Diaz returned shortly before 1:45 a.m. Tuesday with a small-caliber handgun, the detective said.
